Breast Augmentation are performed to enhance the size and shape of a woman’s breasts. This is done primarily and traditionally with implants.

There are lots of reasons why women opt for this treatment, including when they have significant asymmetry or have experienced loss of breast volume due to weight loss or pregnancy, or generally to enhance their breast shape and volume and create more balance with the rest of their body.

Who is an ideal candidate for Breast Augmentation?

For saline implants, any healthy patient 18 or older is eligible for this surgery. To receive silicone implants, the FDA deems that only patients 22 or older are eligible.

Ideal candidates are:

  • If you want a prettier body
  • If you think you will gain self-confidence as a result of this process.
  • If the shape and size of your breasts change due to pregnancy, weight loss or aging.
  • If breast tissue is removed due to breast cancer.
  • If the breast is small since birth.
  • If the breast implant that was previously implanted is old or has lost its function.
  • If one of the breasts is smaller than the other and wants to correct their symmetry.
  • In addition to these, Breast Augmentation is successfully performed in Turkey.

Before Breast Augmentation

To prepare for your procedure, you’ll need to follow preoperative instructions from your surgeon. You’ll probably be advised not to eat or drink starting at midnight the night before your procedure.

In the weeks before breast augmentation, your surgeon will advise you to stop smoking. Smoking raises your risk of complications and restricts blood flow in the body. This can prolong recovery after surgery. It’s also possible that smoking lowers your immunity, which raises your risk of developing an infection.

Procedure for a Breast Augmentation

If you elect to have breast augmentation surgery, you’re most likely to have it done in an outpatient surgical center or similar facility. Most of the time, people are able to go home the same day as the procedure.

The procedure will most likely be performed under general anesthesia so you don’t feel any pain. Follow your surgeon’s instructions to prepare in the 24 hours before your procedure.

Your surgeon will place your breast implants using one of three types of incisions:

  • inframammary (beneath your breast)
  • axillary (in the underarm)
  • periareolar (in the tissue surrounding your nipples)

Your surgeon will then create a pocket by separating the tissue of your breast from your chest muscles and tissue. Your implants will be placed inside these pockets and centered inside your breasts.

Life After Breast Augmentation

The results of a breast implant procedure are typically long-lasting. Breast implants often “last” as long as 10 years (this number is variable and can be larger or smaller) but can vary depending on the patient, type, size and shape, among other factors. Patients often elect to undergo second or even third breast augmentation procedure as they naturally age to maintain their aesthetic profile.

Patients cite this procedure as a great confidence booster, especially when patients are good candidates and maintain reasonable expectations for what breast augmentations can achieve. Asking the right questions and performing your due diligence before your procedure can go a long way to help provide a wonderful experience and ultimately reach your aesthetic goals.

Silicone Filling Types

The silicon fill, which is divided into shape and function, has advantages and disadvantages. The choice of silicone padding may vary depending on body anatomy and personal tastes. Before the operation, you can have a detailed interview with your doctor and choose the pad that suits you the best.

The Circular Fill (Saline): The circular silicon filler, which can solve problems caused by sagging, is generally suitable for women whose upper side of their breast is empty. The breast will look like it is supported with a bra. In women who practice sports such as swimming, tennis and volleyball, if silicone is used as a droplet, it may cause slippage and rotation and create an asymmetrical image. But the circular filling, even if it moves, will not change the shape.

The Droplet Fill (Anatomic): It is recommended for thin women or those with small breasts since birth. The droplet filling is the closest form to normal breasts so it is called Anatomical fill and it aims to give the breast the shape of droplet and also helps the stiffness of the nipple. All fillings have a silicone outer cover that protects them from shocks and accidents. However, they differ in content and are divided into two types:

Saline Filling: This filling contains saline sol, and after implanting it in the body, it will be filled by the saline sol till it reaches the required size. The density of the sol is the same as the water density so it is possible to reduce the volume with time.Is recommended for all women over 18

Silicone Filling:The most commonly used breast implants consist of one silicone shell containing a more or less cohesive silicone gel, which gives an appearance very natural and nice. In addition to the natural effect felt on palpation, silicone gel prosthesi offer the most aesthetic and harmonious result. Scientific studies have proved the safety of these prostheses: they don’t cause any malignant disease or disease. The fillings are divided into two types according to their surface characteristics:

Soft Silicone Padding: In general, the contraction of the implant under the muscles may occur over time. But nowadays, thanks to the silicone outer cover of a certain thickness that prevents gel penetration and the thickness of the gel itself, the contraction is very rare.

Composite Silicone Padding: The shrinkage in the size of the filling is very small compared to the soft one because it is implanted above the muscles. The composite fill structure is obtained by changing the silicone outer structure in the soft filling cover.
